Who reviews the content
Rudy Greene reviews our guides and tools. That review does not replace an insulation professional’s assessment of your home, and the site has not been reviewed by an insulation professional. About insulated.ie explains how the site works and how it is funded.
Sources you can check
We use original sources for factual claims: scheme guides and published cost data from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), government guidance and Revenue’s tax guidance where relevant. Each insulation guide links to its sources so you can read the original conditions.
We explain which scheme a grant belongs to, the conditions that affect it and whether one amount replaces another. We distinguish announced changes from rules already in force. Before you apply or start work, check the current conditions directly with SEAI using the links in the relevant guide.
Costs, grants and your result
Published cost figures describe earlier jobs, not a price promised for your home. Where we show a median, it is the middle figure when the recorded costs are put in order. We name the period and source, and say when the source does not tell us whether VAT is included.
Our grant eligibility check asks about your home and uses the same grant and cost data as the guides. It keeps published costs separate from possible grants; it does not subtract them to promise a final bill. Its result depends on your answers and cannot confirm grant approval or whether a particular insulation method suits your home.
Review dates and corrections
A guide shows two dates. “Reviewed by Rudy Greene on” is the date of that review. “Sources last checked” records when we last compared the guide with its sources, and it can be later. Neither date means an insulation professional has signed the guide off. A guide names Rudy Greene only once Rudy Greene has reviewed it, so a newly published guide shows its sources date alone.
To report a mistake, send the page address, the wording you think is wrong and a source if you have one. We check the report against the source. When we correct a factual error, we add a correction note on the page and update its sources date.
Commercial relationships
We fund the site ourselves and do not currently receive payment for callback requests or contractor introductions. Payments must not decide our grant explanations, cost figures or guide conclusions. Any future paid introduction will be explained before you submit your details.
